Eons ago I read a great magazine ad that said, “Enthusiasm is great. Experience is better.” That has always stuck with me. In my early days as a creative, my enthusiasm made up for the lack of experience often.
Today that phrase came to mind again. It felt familiar and strange at the same time. Then I realized something important:
I have a lot of experience under my belt now.
How rewarding.
The lesson? If you’re dreaming of becoming a filmmaker, stop dreaming about it and go do it. Enthusiasm will carry you until you have more experience.
