Well my new years resolution to drop 30lbs is going. Yep, it’s simply going. Not going well, going alright, or going anywhere quickly. It’s just going.
Not eating fries has been harder than I thought. I gave up beer and wine pretty easily, but the fries… Oh, the fries. I love fries more than I realized. They’re so salty and crispy and delicious.
And, surprisingly, they’re losing their power over me. I had weak moments and ordered fries twice this week — but I only ate a few of them each time. After eating about five delicious fries they started to taste like cardboard. So that’s good news, I guess.
I haven’t quite gotten all the things on that list going, either. I blame it on being busy, tired, and really frustrated with one particular area of my life. But I’m getting there…
I’m making better choices on a daily basis, and that’s good. For example, the last time I was at the grocery store, I managed to buy some English muffins. Every morning I toast one of those and eat it on the way out the door. I also grab a little apple and scarf that down while en route to work. Both of those things keep me from being RAVENOUS by the time lunch rolls around. Which keeps me from eating EVERYTHING IN SIGHT by the time I finally get to lunch. So that’s a win, too.
This week I had two or three days where I felt much skinnier, and that was really rewarding. I’m not weighing myself yet. I’m waiting to fit back into a particular pair of jeans. Then I’ll start weighing myself again. I don’t know why, but that seems to work for me.
I’mma be skinnier sometime soon. You just watch.
