This is going to be a busy week! Today I’m speaking with some film students at Meredith College–my alma mater! I’m looking forward to it. They’ve been studying the documentary form so I can’t wait to hear their questions.
Then there’s a fall mixer organized by the Southern Documentary Fund (SDF) this Thursday. Aaron Syrett, director of the NC Film Office, will be speaking about the state’s tax credit. The event will take place at Trailblazer Studios in Raleigh. Get more info about the mixer here.
(Shameless plug: our next TriFilm event will also be held at Trailblazer Studios in January, so be sure to register for that today: trifilmattrailblazer.eventbrite.com.)
This weekend, the filmmaking fun continues. I’ve registered to attend the Documentary Summit in Raleigh, a two-day workshop about documentary filmmaking. While I hope to learn more about documentary filmmaking, I’m especially interested in socializing. It’ll be great to surround myself with documentary filmmakers, after spending so many hours editing Abandoned Allies in solitude. I can’t wait to meet other filmmakers and hear about their journeys in filmmaking.
Yes, this will be a busy week! I’m looking forward to it.
