Last week I was out on a much-needed vacation. I went with my husband and in-laws to Positano, Italy. It’s a beautiful place on the coast, roughly three hours from Rome by car. (Here, let me google it for you so you can see it on a map: http://bit.ly/1hd8JLm.)

A photo of Positano, Italy, taken by me last week. Isn’t it gorgeous?!
It was an incredible trip. Positano is one of the most beautiful places, nestled in a mountain on the sea. It’s a tourist town that’s home to roughly 3,000 locals. You’d recognize it from that beach scene in Under the Tuscan Sun. The Amalfi coast, where Positano is located, is the setting for the first half of that awesome Fiat commercial.
Yes, indeed. It was an incredible vacation. It left me more inspired than I have been in a long time. I’m still going through all of the photos as I recover from jet lag.
But, I have to be quite honest. One of my favorite things about traveling the world is coming home. There’s nothing like escaping it all to make you appreciate what you have, eh?
My life here in Raleigh, N.C., is a great one. My cup runeth over.
My job is rewarding and I enjoy it. I get to chase this dream of being a prolific, talented filmmaker. I feel supported by my family and friends. I have the opportunity to use my talents to make the world a better place. Damn, I’m a lucky woman.
How about you? Have you built a life that brings you joy? What things are you appreciative of today? Do share!
