Save the date! The third annual Alice Fest will take place on Sunday, March 9, 2014. It’ll be held at the Full Frame Theater in downtown Durham, N.C., in the American Tobacco District.
Before attending Alice Fest in March 2013, I had never heard the name Alice Guy-Blaché. Now I’m a big fan. She was one of the first filmmakers — ever — not just one of the first female filmmakers.
After the fest last year, I wrote a little about Alice here. Then a few months later I learned that Robert Redford was involved with a documentary about Alice and wrote about that here. You can check out their Kickstarter campaign to learn more about that film. It looks pretty awesome.
