The Southern Documentary Fund (SDF) and Atlantic Creative are hosting an event about animation on Thursday, June 20th, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Here’s the event description from the FB event page:
Come out to have fun + learn some new stuff with SDF! We’ve lined up a talented panel of local animators, from Atlantic Creative and Breakiron Animation and Design. We’ll talk about animation as a storytelling tool, discuss working with designers and animators (and budgeting!), and see some of these folks own work. They’ll be time for snacking and networking too. Join us!
Hosted by Atlantic Creative
5400 Etta Burke Court, Suite 201
Raleigh, NC 27606
Visit the FB event page or email SDF at info@southerndocumentaryfund.or
You can follow Google map directions until you turn onto Hillsborough St. Take the first left after going under a railroad trestle. You will see Smith Exterminating company on your left. The road right before that is Etta Burke. Turn between the construction barrels onto Etta Burke Court. Smith will be on your right. 5400 is a few hundred yards down on your left. For help, call 919-832-2220.
I won’t be able to join y’all at the event this Thursday, as much as I’d like to be there. Go on out and let me know what you learned. Use the comments section below, if you feel so inclined, so I can live vicariously through you. 🙂
Camden,
You really missed a great event! One of our staff wrote up a little about the event here: http://www.accav.com/blog/southern-documentary-fund-mixer-provokes-thoughts-about-utilizing-animation
Look forward to catching up with you soon!
Kathy
Sorry to have missed out. Will you be hosting another event soon? Please let me know when you have something scheduled.
We will host SDF anytime! The crowd and content were awesome. Ammon presented our style of hand-drawn animation and Charlie Breakiron presented 3d and Gabe talked about Motion Capture. It was very interesting and they all showed some great examples and talked about pricing for films. We actually developed a discounted pricelist for filmmakers that I need to share as well.
