I counted them: 15 films in four days. So many great documentary films! Here’s what I enjoyed seeing at Full Frame 2013 in alphabetical order:
- Battery Man
- Big Star
- Camera / Woman
- Good Ol’ Freda
- If You Build It
- In So Many Words
- In the Realms of the Unreal
- Manhunt
- Muscle Shoals
- The Record Breaker
- Running From Crazy
- SDF In-the-Works:
- So Help You God
- Occupy the Imagination
- Stories We Tell
- Which Way Is the Front Line From Here?
In addition to the 15 films I watched, I was also lucky enough to attend some of the A&E IndieFilms Speakeasy Conversations. That’s one of my favorite parts of the festival. At the awards ceremony this year Deirdre Haj, executive director of Full Frame, thanked Molly Thompson for helping her start the Speakeasy Conversations a few years ago. So props to both of you, ladies. I absolutely love the panel discussions. Please, please keep ’em coming.
The films, conversations, awards BBQ and filmmaker party were all spectacular. I could write about all of it all day long. More to come as I continue processing all that happened at the 2013 Full Frame Documentary Film Festival.
