There are a lot of changes happening in my world right now. Sometimes it gets overwhelming. Then, at other times, it gets really exciting.
For example, in the next few weeks I’ll have a new home office. I absolutely love home decor, so my creative juices are flowing like whoa right now. It’s fun stuff.
Picking a new color palette has been most inspiring. For a few years I’ve had blue, brown, and green colors filling my home. They are beautiful colors — and I’ll love them forever, but it’s fun to switch things up. I’m excited about living with new colors.
Recently my mom showed me paintings she did in college. One of them I’d never seen, and I totally adore it. It’s an abstract painting. I asked if I could have it and she was kind enough to give it to me on the spot.
So my mom’s painting will be the inspiration for my new office. It has the colors I’d like to use: green, orange, and natural colors. Here are some of the colors that are somewhat close to what I’m talking about:
Because I change my mind a lot, I’ll probably keep most of the stuff in the room neutral: white, beige, etc. Then I’ll use green and orange highlights sparingly. I already own plenty of green storage containers, and I’ve been thinking of painting a desk chair orange. You get the idea.
What I’d like is a well-organized, clutter-free room. A place to be creative and inspired. Somewhere to cuddle up, read, or relax with my dog. An oasis so full of peace that I can find that creative zone easily. A room that I can use in many different ways very efficiently.
I’m asking a lot of that space, but I think it’ll work out well. I’ll be fun to set it up, that’s for sure. Maybe I’ll take some pictures to document the process, eh?
Nah, don’t hold your breath. I’d rather focus on filmmaking. 🙂
